The Super Individual’s Way of Working is a flagship online course Raymond Hou launched in 2025. Crowdfunding began in June 2025, and the course officially went live in September. Its 55 units organize the experience Raymond accumulated running a business of one since 2020 into a systematic curriculum built around the “Life KIT Model” (Knowledge, Influence, and Time). Raymond positions it as an “ever-upgrading system,” rather than a course about quitting one’s job to start a business (see Super Individual, The Super Individual: A Definition for Today’s Professionals, and The KIT Model: Knowledge, Influence, and Time).

Origins and Positioning

The course builds on Raymond’s earlier teaching about digital tools. Starting with the 2021 Notion boot camp, continuing through ChatGPT Work Methods in 2023 and topic courses on digital work methods in 2024, he gradually integrated scattered methods into a complete system. It was designed as a guide-map-style course. Unit 01 defines “Super Individual” as an upgradeable system, “company of one” as a business model, “freelance work” as a work status, and “personal brand” as a natural result. The remaining sections cover the Knowledge, Influence, and Time systems and conclude with life design. Raymond designed the course structure as “observing life → cognitive misconceptions → strategic responses → action exercises,” with a roughly four-to-six ratio of mindset to techniques. He emphasizes that in the AI era, “how to think correctly” matters more than hard knowledge (see From Ordinary Person to Life Hacker to Super Individual and Business Thinking).

Course Structure

The 55 units are divided into 11 parts, in order: Essential Pre-Reading (01–04), Opportunities in the Rise of the Individual (05–11), Core Soft Skills (12–16), Core Hard Skills (17–20), Retrospectives and Writing (21–25), Personal Branding (26–30), Collaboration (31–35), Efficiency Management (36–40), Extended Efficiency Management (41), Developing a Side Business (42–49), and Life Design (50–55). Topics span self-learning and reading methods, the Second Brain, prompting and search with AI, effective retrospectives, monetizing writing, asynchronous collaboration, time and task management, pricing and product funnels, and designing a life around choices and passions. In Unit 55, Raymond maps the three KIT systems to life stages: ages 22–32 favor T→K, ages 32–40 favor K→I, and after 40 favors I→T. This extends the course from a set of tools into a long-term path (the full unit list is in the SOLOPRENEUR_INDEX source; the stage strategy is described in The KIT Model: Knowledge, Influence, and Time).

Production Process

In his public notes from June 2025, Raymond described the tradeoffs involved in production. He had been used to recording with a dynamic microphone or livestreaming, relying on audio and a full transcript to leave listeners room to connect the material to their own experience. He nevertheless decided to overcome his discomfort on camera and film the important units with help from a professional team. He said polishing the course scripts took “nearly 100 hours”; the original plan was about 54 units with an estimated running time of 18 to 20 hours. 1 During production, his wife Yuzu helped record short behind-the-scenes moments and publish them. Raymond also expected to keep adding lessons after launch, as he had with the Notion course, based on student assignments and comments.

Crowdfunding, Launch, and Content Economics

The course began crowdfunding in June 2025 and officially launched in September. Raymond publicly reflected on his pricing model of “raising the price after crowdfunding, while the number of students continues to grow,” comparing it with his earlier Notion course. That course had about 1,800 students at the end of crowdfunding; over the next two years, its price roughly doubled while enrollment grew to about 12,000. On the content side, he continued the practice of adding free lessons after launch, expanding the runtime and adding dozens of long-form articles, turning a one-time course into a knowledge asset that keeps growing. The “crowdfund first, raise the price later, then add lessons” cadence reflects lessons about a company of one summarized in Unit 49: appropriate pricing creates a win-win, trust comes from consistency and transparency, and a product is only the starting point—the goal is to be trusted (see The Product Funnel: From Mass Traffic to a Deep Community of One Hundred, Trust Over Traffic, and The Brand Flywheel: Let A Help B and C).

The course’s second part was fully launched at noon on September 17, 2025. On the last night before turning 31, September 16, Raymond recorded a retrospective on the eve of launch: he intensively checked the second part’s content and designed the final “Assignment Six.” He also reflected on how to make a long-tail model work and maximize the core advantages of online scripts, networked learning, and student projects, while 99 percent of online-course operators were accustomed to pursuing short-term sales during crowdfunding and he had less name recognition than others. 2

Less than an hour after the course page went live on June 24, 2025, more than 200 people had purchased and joined. Raymond framed that launch in terms of three questions: for himself, it was a way to organize seven years of building from scratch into a map others could take away; for students, it offered work methods closer to real circumstances than simple tool tutorials; for the future, it would preserve a record of his work at age 30 and keep collecting examples of Super Individual (Super Individuals) across Taiwan’s professions. 3

Positioning and Delivery Principles at Launch

In his launch post, Raymond divided course content into two kinds: core logic that does not change over time, and workflows that evolve with practice and tools. The former appears in the early sections to help students recognize workplace assumptions that no longer work. The latter is conveyed through concrete problems and challenges, showing students how methods are broken down and iterated, then turned into their own workflows. This makes The Super Individual’s Way of Working more than a repackaging of past articles; it is a review, revision, and reorganization.

This positioning also appears in the delivery format. Raymond does not define “taking the work seriously” as serving the largest possible number of people. He wants every student willing to invest effort to feel supported, so the course includes video, full transcripts, citations and further resources, reflection questions, practice assignments, and knowledge cards. Students can learn in the way that suits them. This continues his view of education: a course’s value lies not only in its content, but in whether it can move people from understanding to action (see Education Is One Person Lighting Up Another; a Course Is Delivery).

The course’s long-term goal is not to have students collect more knowledge, but to improve their judgment and workflow design when facing problems. Raymond regards “increased understanding without the ability to execute” as mental friction, and warns that treating collection as effort or other people’s knowledge as a manual can leave learning stuck in anxiety. The course therefore gives more weight to whether students can use new understanding to design their own work and life. This explains why it places tools in a supporting role and centers problem breakdown, workflows, and sustainable action.

Results and Extensions One Year After Launch

The course reached its first anniversary in June 2026. Raymond’s public progress report said that it had accompanied more than 7,000 students over the year, with 55 units and more than 200,000 Chinese characters of content. 4 He focused on students’ practical outcomes rather than the numbers, citing examples of upgrading administrative and employee collaboration across an entire company, replanning a career using the course framework, and treating the models as a reference book to revisit when problems arise. He credited the students’ own practice and concluded, “A school becomes a classic not because its teachers are so impressive, but because of how good the students who leave it are” (see Education Is One Person Lighting Up Another; a Course Is Delivery). The same post explained a decision at the time: because Raymond was writing a book and preparing another AI Agent flagship course, he could not hold an in-person student gathering that year. He postponed the gathering until after the book was published and publicly encouraged students to organize co-learning themselves.

Another extension turned the course material into an AI product. At the end of June 2026, Raymond used The Super Individual’s Way of Working as source material for “Super Individual Consultant” (ask.lifehacker.tw), a question-and-answer AI that responds to students’ specific obstacles using the course framework, initially made available to students. 5 This grew out of a comparison he made while preparing the AI Agent course: one unit was about training one’s own workflows into an AI double, another about extracting other people’s expertise, and the most natural example was his own course. His resulting observation was that the hardest part of an expert’s mind to replicate is not the knowledge base, but judgment about timing—“when to ask a follow-up, when to narrow the scope, and when to break an abstract problem back into actionable choices” (see Raymond’s AI Double).

Position in Raymond’s Framework

The Super Individual’s Way of Working is the synthesis of seven years of Raymond’s experience building a business from scratch, and a point where the Super Individual concept moved from personal practice to a teachable methodology. It builds on the self-employed era of paid content and memberships, then connects to AI Agent experiments represented by Kairos from 2026 onward. The course’s idea that “one person can accomplish what previously required a large company” is pushed further as AI tools amplify individual work (see The Self-Employed Era (2020–), The Super Individual and AI Agent Era (2024–2026), The Six Revenue Streams of a Company of One, and Career Development). Raymond’s closing description of the course is: “Some ways of working are not meant to turn you into a machine, but to finally let you go easy on yourself.”
